Nine houses are set to be built in former green belt land after plans were approved.
The decision on the site adjacent to Arnold's Farm, by Alleyfield Burial Ground in Ickleford, was made on Thursday night (March 7) after the land was first targeted for residential development in 2015.
Building three two-bedroom, four three-bedroom, and two four-bedroom homes was green-lit by North Herts Council where previous attempts to get permission for 18, 17, and then 10 homes had failed.

The latest plans, initially for 10 properties, were submitted in 2022 and amended down to nine in January.
The land was previously in the green belt but was removed when the North Herts Local Plan 2011-31 was approved.
Ickleford Parish Council “strongly objected” to the proposal arguing that the proposed development is too large and warned of potentially dangerous traffic conditions.
However, ahead of the meeting, committee members were handed a report by the relevant planning officer recommending that permission be granted.
Before making their decision, councillors expressed that they could not find a sound planning reasons that would be sustainable to refuse permission during the meeting.
