Motorists were told to avoid the area following a crash on the A602, near Hitchin.
The incident took place on Park Way before 8.49am this morning (Thursday, January 25).
Officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire (BCH) Road Policing Unit attended the scene.
Hertfordshire police have since confirmed that the collision was "damage only" and no injuries were reported.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Police were called at around 8.49am today (Thursday, January 25) to report a damage only collision on Park Way (A602), Hitchin.

Earlier, Hertfordshire County Council had posted on social media: "Incident: Hitchin A602 Park Way - Delays in the area due to RTC (Road Traffic Collision).
