Two roads near Stevenage town centre have been closed due to an overturned Honda Jazz.

The incident took place prior to 8.04am this morning (Tuesday, January 16), when the vehicle overturned at a roundabout on St George's Way.

The road was shut until around 8.35am, when the closure was moved to Fairlands Way.

Both roads have since reopened, with no injuries reported.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called at 8:04am this morning to reports of an overturned vehicle at the roundabout on St George's Way.

"Two fire engines from Stevenage fire station were sent to the scene, but on arrival crews found that nobody was trapped and the fire service was not required."

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary added: "Police were called at 8.01am today (Tuesday, January 16) to reports of a blue Honda Jazz which had overturned in St George’s Way, Stevenage.

"The incident happened on the roundabout close to the swimming pool.

"A road closure was put in place while the incident was dealt with.

"There were no injuries and recovery was arranged for the vehicle."
