King Charles III's first ever King's Award has presented to a business near Stevenage.

The 'King's Award for Enterprise' was previously known as the 'Queen's Award for Enterprise' and recognises "outstanding achievement by UK businesses".

Pet supplement manufacturer Lintbells - of Hall's Green - has received the first King's Award, having won a Queen's Award on two separate occasions.

The award was presented to Lintbells today (Friday, April 21) in order to mark the birthday of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and the King's coronation on Saturday, May 6.

This year's award recognises a continued international growth for Lintbells - which now also trades under the name 'YuMOVE' - including a "significant launch" into the US.

As a result, representatives from the company will be invited to a Royal reception, able to fly The King’s Awards flag at their main office, and use the emblem on their marketing materials.

A commemorative crystal trophy and a 'Grant of Appointment' (an official certificate) will also be presented.

The award is valid for five years, and will see Lintbells benefit from "worldwide recognition, increased commercial value, greater press coverage and a boost to staff morale".

Lintbells was established in the village of Weston, in 2006, and now exports to over 20 countries across the globe.

The company's CEO, Fiona Hope, said: "The whole team at Lintbells is delighted that our international growth has been recognised by such a prestigious award.

"We are very proud of the difference that our scientific supplements make to the quality of life of companion animals and have worked hard to extend our global reach.

"To receive the first Enterprise Award from His Majesty King Charles III makes this is a very special moment in Lintbells’ history.”
