A shoplifter from Stevenage has been jailed after stealing from Co-op and One Stop.

The man from Sterling Close, pleaded guilty to 10 shoplifting offences, which he committed over the course of three weeks in February and March.

During that time, the 33-year-old stole items from One Stop in Bragbury End and Co-op in Broadwater.
Turner was given 12 weeks for an offence committed at Bragbury End One Stop on February 15, and a further nine weeks for the other nine offences he pleaded guilty to.
PC Terry Thompson said: “Shoplifting continues to be an issue in Stevenage, so I hope a custodial sentence like this sends the message that we do take this type of crime seriously and I hope it will deter others from committing these type of offences."
