ARTIST Lizanne van Essen will be displaying her work in Stevenage's Boxfield Gallery until April 22.

Lizanne has graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a degree in art and design.

In this exhibition, some of her work has been influenced by the imagery and design of playing cards.

It is her third exhibition at the Boxfield Gallery and there will be the opportunity to buy any art that is on display.

NIGEL Markham, fine art lecturer at North Hertfordshire College, is displaying his work at the Michael Brown Gallery at the college's Centre for the Arts in Hitchin.

Nigel said: "Each of the paintings has been completed in a single session using an application of wet paint onto wet paint. The images are populated with light and colour using the landscape as their subject."

The exhibition will be on show until April 13.
