With current single Monster rampaging through the charts eating all before it, there will soon be few people unfamiliar with this Cowbridge four-piece's work.

Surrounded by screamo bands in the south Wales live music scene, The Automatic have burst forth onto major radio playlists, into the charts and NME's hearts - their first two singles making the teen rag's single of the week.

As you might guess, The Automatic are full of raucous beans and present a relentless, dense barrage of songs that assimilate elements of screamo, driving US alt-rock and a smattering of electro beats.

Even at 40 minutes it can be a wearing listen, but these boys look set for success. 3/5
