ALREADY infamously eclectic and somewhat self-indulgent, Beck's decision to release a remixed 'companion album' to last year's Guero is either completely unsurprising or strange that he has let others do the reworking.

Either way, here we have most of Guero rejigged to varying degrees by the likes of Air (recycling Missing into new-wave ballad Heaven Hammer), Boards Of Canada (Broken Drum gets bathed in lethargic electronica) and Adrock of the Beastie Boys stripping down Black Tambourine and infusing it with reverb.

Also making an appearance is Dizzee Rascal, who takes Hell Yes and sucks out the warmth, replacing it with a clinical, robotic backdrop.

Interesting, but for Beck completists and the curious only. 3/5
