THE MIGHTY mighty Newtones are bringing their singular riffs and rhythms to Biggleswade this week. And it's all in aid of charity.
Although only together since January, the four-piece have already notched up some impressive performances with crunching drum beats and distinctive vocals.
Their spot at Biggleswade United Football Club is yet another chance to build up the fanbase but also an opportunity for fans to dig deep in their elasticised pockets and pull out a few pence in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Vocalist and guitarist Lee said: "We were asked by a close mate and fan of the band to play in aid of Cancer Research UK. It's an important day for us and we feel very happy to be doing something for an important cause."
The lads have taken time out of a busy June schedule to play the gig for the charity this Saturday, June 3, from 8pm.
"We've got some quite big things coming up, we're looking at recording and releasing our first single soon, and we've also got a few big gigs coming up in June.
We're at The Pleasure Unit on the 5th, then we're supporting MTV2 favourites The On Offs at Bedford Esquires on the 17th, and we're also playing at Nambucca in London on the 30th. We've also got some other big things coming up to look out for," said Lee.

l If music fans are looking for something slightly different, Tony Amarillo Christie is coming to Stevenage next Thursday, June 8, to promote his World Cup song Is This The Way To The World Cup? at the Chicago Rock Café.
General manager Ray O'Driscoll said: "We're delighted to have Tony perform here and gee up the crowd and I'm sure he won't be able to resist a burst of Amarillo.
