JOANovARC are living up to their status as the new ‘Queens of rock’ with single Girls Wanna Rock, which comes out on Friday.

The track is the first release from their self-titled second album JOANovARC, which is due to drop in February.

All profits from the sale of single Girls Wanna Rock will be going to the breast cancer charity Pink Ribbon Foundation.

“We have always used the platform we have as a band to raise awareness and support for good causes and charities with single releases,” said the group.

“This particular single is about women coming together in a united front showing the world how strong they can be against all the odds.

“We decided to use this particular song to support and promote awareness of breast cancer as we know so many people now going through this incredibly tough battle.”

The group, which consists of Laura Ozholl (rhythm guitarist/vocals), Sam Walker (leads vocals/bass), Shelley Walker (lead guitar/backing vocals) and Deborah Wildish (drums), will be hosting a charity single launch event at Big Red in Holloway Road, Islington, London, on Friday, October 19. Entry is free.

The quartet then have a Herts show at Club 85 in Hitchin on Saturday, October 20.
