ANOTHER night of screaming and shouting - but enough about the planned night out with the girlfriend (sorry Laura!) - I'm referring, of course, to metal/thrash/death metal returning to Club 85 this Friday as Bloodline presents Descent, Sentinel and End of Reason. Entrance to the gig is £5.

* VERSATILE keyboard player and vocalist Len Crawley, whose repertoire consists of hits belonging to such luminaries as Nat King Cole, Al Green and Duke Ellington, will be performing at The George and Dragon, in Graveley, on Saturday from 8.30pm.

* IT'S not the sort of name I'd pick if I was in a musical duo but at least Idiot and Friend (aka Les Barker and Keith Donnelly) have a sense of humour. The duo are playing at The Sun Hotel, Hitchin, this Sunday as part of the Hitchin Folk Club programme.

* WHO would have thought it? The Johnny Cash Show in Baldock - especially as the great man passed through the pearly gates three years ago. However, in his memory Al 'Johnny Cash' Hewson will be performing at the Baldock and Letchworth Folk Club at the Orange Tree in Baldock next Wednesday. The Montgomery Music Makers will also be in attendance.
