THAT'S entertainment for mod fans next week with a performance by two top tribute acts.

Music venue Plinston will be going underground as The Jamm and The Paul Weller Connexion stop off in the not-so-strange town of Letchworth GC.

Together the acts chart the Modfather's music career from his days with The Jam over 20 years ago to his more recent solo albums.

The Paul Weller Connexion, fronted by former Stars In Their Eyes contestant John Southorn, will open the show with some classic Weller magic, including Changing Man, Peacock Suit, Tin Soldier and Out of the Sinking.

After that it's time to step back in time for The Jamm, who have been delighting fans of Weller's original group in sell-out performances since 1996, filling the void left after The Jam played their last gig in 1982.

The Jamm pay tribute to the period from the charting of In The City to the day Paul stood on Brighton pier and announced "I've had enough".

The band pack a whopping 30-plus songs into the high-energy show, honed by the experience of more than 2,000 live performances.

Doors open at 7.30pm on Friday, January 27.

Tickets cost £10 and are available from the Plinston box office on 01462 672003 or via www.plinstonlive.com
