The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (12A) Yep, there's another one in the fast car franchise. The plot is secondary to the speed freak action, and if that's your thing, you'll be more than happy. 3/5

* Hard Candy (18) An online chatroom is the starting point for the events of this clever thriller, which sees a 32-year-old man face surprising consequences when he takes a 14-year-old girl home. 4/5

* Thank you for Smoking (15) A not entirely straight forward but none the less enjoyable satire about a spin doctor employed by a major cigarette company. Aaron Eckhart, Cameron Bright, Katie Holmes and William H Macy star. 3/5

* Imagine Me and You (12A) Piper Perabo stars as a bride who has a change of heart on her wedding day, realising not only that she doesn't love the groom, but that she is in love with another woman. Despite some wry observations it's confused in tone and the chemistry is unconvincing. 2/5

* The Omen (15) Liev Schreiber and Julia Stiles star as the parents mistakenly raising the son of the devil in this horror remake. Director John Moore has done nothing much with his source material to make it better or different from the original but he has done a decent enough job of recreating it. 3/5

* RV: Runaway Vacation (PG) Robin Williams plays Bob Munro in this predictable story of a father trying to solve his family's problems with a road trip in an RV. The dysfunctional family are united against a string of misfortunes. 2/5

* Poseidon (12A) In this remake of the 1970s The Poseidon Adventure, a cast of clichéd characters are left to save themselves when their cruiser is hit by a freak wave. As you can expect from a disaster movie the dialogue is terrible, but the movie moves along at rip-roaring pace, and if it's thrills you're looking for, you're in for a treat. 4/5

* United 93 (15) A harrowing and tense recreation of the actions of those onboard, and those on the ground trying to help, the plane which hijackers intended to fly into the White House on September 11. Thought-provoking stuff. 4/5

* The Da Vinci Code (12A) Starring Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou, this is an eagerly anticipated film from the bestselling novel. This proves to be an action-packed adventure with biblical flashbacks following Prof Robert Langdon as he struggles to unravel an ancient code to solve the greatest mystery of all.4/5

* The Wild (U) It's another animal-ation and this time the star is Samson the lion who's top cat at his home, the New York City Zoo. The adventure begins when his son is shipped to Africa by accident, so Samson and his friends - a giraffe, anaconda, koala and a squirrel - set out to save him. But tough, brave Samson has a secret.... PPP

Curious George (U) This comedy animation stars Will Ferrell as the Man in the Yellow Hat, a gentleman who looks after his pet monkey. 2/5

* X-Men: The Last Stand (12A) The X-Men are divided when a cure is found to treat mutations. This supposedly final instalment sees the return of the key mutant heroes, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Ian McKellen as Magneto and Halle Berry as Storm, alongside some new special powers. 4/5

* Prime (12A) Uma Thurman (Rafi) stars alongside the equally attractive but younger Bryan Greenberg and his mother played by Meryl Streep. A romantic comedy set in New York that follows Rafi's dealings with a toy boy and her struggle to find out if it's really what she wants. 3/5

* Mission Impossible III (12A) Tom Cruise reprises his role of ice cool super spy Ethan Hunt under the guiding hand of director Lost creator JJ Abrams. Abrams tries to add in a bit of depth to Hunt's character and is partially successful, but is sure not to leave out a barrage of high-octane stunts and fancy gadgetry.3/5
