AN OPEN exhibition featuring local artists is on display at The Place Arts Centre in Letchworth.

It gives professional and non-professional artists the chance to show off their work and there's a wide variety of pieces, including watercolours, prints, photographs, ceramics and sculptures.

The exhibition is open now (Monday to Thursday, 10am until 6pm and Friday and Saturday, 10am until 4pm) and finishes on Saturday, May 13.

* ANOTHER chance to view some artistic creations is at Hitchin Museum.

It is hosting an art exhibition that aims to advance the careers of emerging artists while bringing people closer to art.

The Nearly Orange Collection features work by Hertfordshire and London-based artists, and it's working towards producing original, affordable works of art for people to enjoy.

A whole range of paintings, drawings, sculptures and pictures are on display now until Saturday, May 24.
