One of the best-loved performers on the folk circuit is heading for Baldock next week, with fans sure to beat a path to the door of the town’s Orange Tree pub to catch him in action.

Bob Fox will be the star attraction at the Baldock & Letchworth Blues, Folk and Roots club date at the Norton Road pub next Wednesday, June 24.

After decades criss-crossing the country honing his craft, Bob has had a lengthy stint in recent years as the Songman in blockbuster National Theatre production War Horse, appearing both in the West End and on tour, including dates in South Africa.

He’s billed as a witty and engaging performer as well as a superb guitarist and singer, and has been a multiple BBC Folk Awards nominee over the years.

Folk and roots legend Ralph McTell has hailed him as having one the best voices in England, adding: “I have always regarded him as an artist of great ability and integrity.”

Admission to next week’s gig, which starts at 7.30pm, is £10 with £9 concessions, and those under 16 get in free.
