Two years on from Vetiver's debut album, To Find Me Gone opens with the aptly titled Been So Long, a brooding campfire folksong underpinned by slow, intense drums then later lifted by otherworldly guitar and flute.

Excepting one arresting, jagged guitar solo, it leads a crafted, expansive yet intimate clutch of classic gems, sounding as if main man Andy Cabic has found them lying gleaming in the road, a treasured heirloom waiting to be loved again.

As band member of modern wyrd-folk prodigy Devendra Banhart and folk's comeback queen Vashti Bunyan, Cabic barely had an excuse for producing anything less than contemplative classics. Thankfully, he doesn't need one. 4/5
