Variety group’s new members plea

A VARIETY group is appealing for new cast members ahead of a venue change.

North Herts group Variety Express is looking for new blood as it prepares for its first show at the Queen Mother Theatre in Hitchin, because of Plinston in Letchworth GC closing for refurbishment.

The annual variety show of singing, dance and comedy takes place in October, and has so far raised more than 100,000 for charity with all profits donated to causes in the area.

Producer Lindsey Head said: “A good turnover of cast helps keep our shows fresh and different year on year. We welcome anyone who can sing or dance – no previous experience of performing in public is necessary. Remember, nerves are good, just be prepared to let yourself go! The buzz is amazing.”

Anyone interested in joining the group should call Lindsey on 01462 420684 or chairman Trevor Burton on 01462 685690.
