AN AFFAIR between two young lovers on opposing sides of a brewing conflict sets the scene for another lacklustre Kevin Reynolds movie.
Based on a famous legend, the film follows English knight Tristan (James Franco) and Irish maiden Isolde (Sophia Myles) as they try to suppress their feelings for each other amidst the battle for the throne of England.
The film is a rather tepid affair which promised so much but delivers very little. Stick to Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet instead. 2/5
