You can savour the songs of two legends of music in a free gig at Baldock’s Orange Tree pub later this month – but you’ll be encouraged to make a donation to help a good cause close to the hearts of the organisers.

The fundraiser on Sunday, February 22, will feature an acoustic tribute to the songs of Neil Young and Johnny Cash and all the cash that comes in will go to the Letchworth-based Garden House Hospice, which supports patients and their families all over North Herts.

Viv Lucas has been performing his Southern Man homage to Neil Young since 2007 and has offered his talents to other Garden House fundraisers in the past.

Al Hewson’s varied musical career has seen him found and front a string of hard-working concert bands and collaborate with many award winning national and international musicians. He has performed on national radio and at festivals up and down the country, and he’s been singing standards and lesser-known numbers from the Man In Black’s extensive back catalogue for almost 50 years, performing both solo as John E Cash and with the trio Americano.

The show starts at 8pm.
