There’s a classy catalogue of top class music being served up at Hitchin’s Benslow Music in the run-up to Christmas – and you can also savour your supper at the performance venue in Benslow Lane before the shows.

The December programme opened last night with the foot-tapping London Klezmer Quartet, but it’s the classics tomorrow at 8pm when pianist Nigel Clayton joins the Bingham String Quartet for a programme that includes Mozart and Dvorák as well as Peter Sculthorpe.

That’s followed next Wednesday, December 9, with an appearance by the Tedesca Quartet, who will be including Beethoven, Janacek and Brahms on their seasonal setlist, while next Friday, December 11, the Fidelio Trip promise Debussy, Satie and even Schoenberg.

Tickets to the concerts are £12 with free entry to anyone under 27. The pre-concert dining – a two course dinner and a drink from the bar – adds £18 to the experience. You can get full details and book tickets online at www.benslowmusic.org or call 01462 459446 to find out more.
