There’s music and dance galore in Stevenage town centre on Sunday in a belated celebration of Tuesday’s worldwide International Women’s Day.
The Stevenage World Forum session will be based under the Town Square clock from 11am to 3pm.
Singers Emma Kitto and Sophie Khoury are pencilled in to perform just before noon, and a gospel choir will provide an uplifting end to the programme.
And along the way there will be dance displays showcasing Indian tabla and Irish and Filipino folk forms – as well as the high-energy street dance of high-flying Stevenage troupe Warriorz.
There will also be speakers explaining the support available for survivors of domestic abuse – that’s the theme picked as central to this year’s local celebrations – and from a women’s refuge.
