They’ve been around for a long time, and homegrown Hitchin band the Xcerts will be back in action at the town’s Victoria pub on Saturday night.
The band – not to be confused with the Scottish indie band and pre-dating their north of the border namesakes by some years – first made music in 1999.
Tim Gale (lead guitar) and Ian Kinsey (guitar and vocal) have been part of the set-up from the start and are now joined by Nick Kingham on bass and Dave Roberts on drums.
Ian said: “We play the songs we love – the Beatles, Bowie, The Clash, The Specials, Pink Floyd – so it’s a real mix mainly from the 1960s through to the 1980s with a few newbies, too.
“The Vic is our local so it will be hot, lively and great fun. It’s free to get in and we expect our usual crowd so arrive early if you want to get in.”
