Two key members of top-rated Scottish folk band Malinky will be in the spotlight south of the border in Baldock later this month.

Two key members of top-rated Scottish folk band Malinky will be in the spotlight south of the border in Baldock later this month.

Malinky were named Folk Band Of The Year in the 2010 Scots Trad Music Awards and singer Fiona Hunter has twice been nominated as Singer of the Year.

Together with award-winning composer, fiddler and tenor guitarist Mike Vass she will perform at the Baldock & Letchworth’s Blues, Folk & Roots Club on Wednesday, April 15.

Fiona is a native of Glasgow, and studied Scottish music at university under the renowned Alison McMorland.

Mike is regarded as one of Scotland’s finest fiddle players, and in great demand as a performer, composer and teacher.

Tickets will be available on the door at The Orange Tree in Norton Road, Baldock, where the music starts at 8.30pm – adults £10, £9 concessions, under 16s get in free.
