Sunday night is music night at Hitchin’s Sun Hotel as one of the best-known venues on the folk scene tunes up for 2015.

The first headliners of the new year this weekend are Life & Times, and it’s probably the last chance to catch this duo on the Hitchin stage – they’ve already warned fans that they will be going their separate ways at the end of the year after more than three decades writing, performing and recording together.

The set list will include songs picked from their many years together – find out more about their work at www.lifeandtimes.org.uk.

Following hot on their heels on Sunday, January 18 are The Churchfitters, four virtuoso musicians from England and France who strut their stuff on a stage that bristles with instruments including flute, banjo, dulcimer, whistle, guitar, ukulele, stand up dustbin bass and a stack of percussion.

Throw in some exquisite harmonies, a slew of startlingly original songs and a few jokes that create instant rapport and you’ve got a high energy show that always leaves audiences cheering.

Admission to Hitchin Folk Club is £12 for members and £14 for non-members, and doors open at 7.30pm. Find out more about what’s in store online at www.hitchinfolkclub.idnet.net.
