The Hertfordshire Concert Band isn’t often seen in these parts – the 45-strong ensemble is based down the A1(M) in Welwyn Garden City and recent dates have included Brighton, London’s St James’s Park, Windsor Castle – and Dunstable.
But they’re heading to Hitchin for a Christmas concert this weekend, and splitting the proceeds with their hosts at St Mary’s Church.
They’ll be striking up at 7.30pm on Saturday night, and the playlist will include traditional Christmas carols as well as selections from The Sound Of Music and Bond themes.
The band has been playing a varied repertoire of wind band music since 1979, and also tours internationally.
Tickets for Saturday’s concert are £7 for adults and £5 concessions, and you can book yours by calling 01767 318066.
