Following up critically acclaimed albums can't be easy, but London five-piece Hot Chip have clearly kept their heads when all around were losing theirs to Chip's dance-pop gems like Over And Over.
While last album The Warning subverted dance-pop, this takes the baton and runs with it, gleefully messing around with rock, spindly post-punk, electro, samples and tempo - including a few slow numbers - and rarely falls at the hurdles.
The dark, oppressive chassis supporting future-classic Shake A Fist sounds like an entire jungle at midnight fed through a mixing desk, Ready For The Floor is a surefire disco hit, and Wrestlers births Casio R'n'B. A varied, pulsating pleasure. 4/5
