A FUN-FILLED romp through the Wild West aims to keep audiences hootin’ and hollerin’ for more next week.

Under the guise of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show, amateur dramatic society Hitchin Thespians come to Stevenage for a musical extravaganza based on the life and times of Annie Oakley.

Annie Get Your Gun will take to the Gordon Craig Theatre stage on Wednesday, March 13, with all the thrills of the Wild West and a healthy dose of romance to boot.

The show throws up plenty of questions to keep the audience guessing as they ponder whether Buffalo Bill will be able to keep his Wild West Show afloat, if young Tommy and Winnie can keep their romance alive despite Dolly’s meddling and whether Annie can take the shooting crown off rival crack-shot and defending champion Frank Butler.

A varied cast full of memorable personalities, lovable rogues, dazzling dancers and a talented chorus will perform the show, with a soundtrack which includes classics They Say It’s Wonderful, Anything You Can Do, Doin’ What Comes Natur’lly and There’s No Business Like Show Business.

Nightly performances of Annie Get Your Gun will be performed at the theatre in Lytton Way at 7.45pm from next Wednesday, March 13, through to Saturday, March 16, with a matinee at 2.30pm on Saturday.

Ticket prices range from £15-£17, with a further £2 off for concessions.
