Happy Days in store as Hitchin’s Rhythms of the World festival seals free tickets deal with children’s charity

There are Happy Days ahead for disadvantaged children in Herts and Beds thanks to a new charity partnership which has been forged with Hitchin’s annual Rhythms of the World festival.
Festival organisers are about to reveal details of the partnership with the Luton-based Happy Days children’s charity which will offer free tickets to this summer’s event to youngsters who might not otherwise be able to enjoy the two day feast of music from around the corner and around the world, and much more.

The festival, which will be held this year over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, June 20 and 21, has been awarded a string of charitable grants to help fund its work, wth support coming from The Big Lottery, Hitchin Youth Trust, North Herts District Council and county councillors who represent the town, The Neighbourly Charitable Trust and Hertfordshire Community Foundation.
This funding will go towards supporting the year-round RotW outreach and community arts programmes, the festival’s work with young people on the Icehouse stage and its volunteer recruitment drive in Stevenage, Letchworth and Luton where volunteer numbers are currently low.
As a registered charity, Rhythms of the World partners with a host of organisations that help to make the festival happen and support the community arts programme throughout the year.
