Singers from two local groups will be in the spotlight at the town’s Gordon Craig Theatre next week as they lend their voices to support international performers Tenors Un Limited – dubbed the Rat Pack of the opera world – in concert at the Stevenage venue.
Both the Stevenage Ladies Choir and the Hertfordshire Community Youth Choir will accompany the singers when their Venice To Vegas tour comes to town on Saturday.
Both groups responded to a call in the Comet as the tenor trio launched a search for local talent to feature in their show, sending the group videos of their past performances and biographies giving details of their previous work.
The musical director of both choirs, Ann-Marie Chessman, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen. Both choirs have a wealth of performance experience and are working hard in rehearsals for what is sure to be a brilliant show.”
Both choirs rehearse in Stevenage on Thursday evenings and welcome new members.
