The team putting together this summer’s feelgood musical show at Stevenage’s Gordon Craig Theatre won’t have to pray for divine intervention to ensure a hit.
Arthur Bostrom – best known for his role in evergreen sitcom ‘Allo ‘Allo – and Pippa Winslow both feature in the cast of Sister Act, with the central ‘Whoopi Goldberg’ role played by Michelle Chantelle Hopewell.
The stage production takes its inspiration from the hit 1992 film in which a cabaret singer on the run takes refuge in a strait-laced nunnery, where she teaches the nuns in the choir how to sing with soul and they protect her from the shady figures who want to make sure she can’t testify in court against them.
The show opens on Tuesday, August 18, and runs through to the end of the month, with matinee and evening performances on offer.
