After the success of the first date in the Herts At War series of free lectures by experts on the First World War, organisers are getting set for the second session.
This will feature author and historian Peter Hart, who will be at St Christopher School in Barrington Road, Letchworth, on Thursday, February 12.
His subject will be the ill-fated Gallipoli campaign in 1915, and if you’d like to be there (7pm for a 7.30pm start) you can reserve a place via the www.eventbrite.co.uk.
The school is also the venue on Monday evening for a talk by Oxford history professor Sir Hew Strachan on the thinking at the time that helped create the conflict. The talk is part of a series of events marking the school’s centenary, and again you can find out more at www.eventbrite.co.uk.
