A free festival of folk takes place in Letchworth on Saturday, with ten bands playing across two stages.

Baldock and Letchworth Folk Club have booked the acoustic acts to appear in the town centre and Broadwater Gardens as part of this weekend’s Letchworth Arts Centre’s Who Do You Think You Are? Festival.

Folk Club band booker, Alan Hewson, said: “The sound will be the blues, care of Garry Smith and French guitarist Claude Bourbon and Bluegrass from Buffalo, and then there’s the full range of folk, from touring Irish band Niall Teague & Fast Company, to BBC folk musicians of the year 2009 and 2010 - fiddler Tom McConville with his band, squeeze boxer John Kirkpatrick, and listen out for the fabulous voice of Bob Fox. “There is every style from traditional English song to contemporary singer-songwriter.”

Alan added that if you want to see more of the acts, they will be appearing at the club’s weekly Wednesday Music Live gigs soon at The Orange Tree in Baldock - go to alan@madnanny.co.uk
