If you're trying to get more delicious plant-based goodness into your diet, check out a new food business delivering frozen meals in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire - and hot lunches from its kitchen in Stotfold.

Set up by Iain Coyne and Ruth Miller, Stotfold-based Ooosh provides a range of meals that will appeal not only to vegans, but to anyone who is looking to pack in more plant-based portions.

As more of us are looking to ‘flexitarianism’ as a way to address health and environmental concerns, Ooosh’s tasty twist on a range of mains, sides and soups offers a great solution for meat-free Mondays and more.

Before the pandemic, Iain’s cooking had started to build a loyal following when he would cook an extra batch of the family meal to supply to friends.

Word-of-mouth referrals soon meant that friends of friends were also lining up to grab some Ooosh grub and, although the food is fully vegan, their early customer base has been almost entirely meat and dairy eaters looking to increase the amount of plant-based food they eat.

Ruth said: “Having worked as house parents to large groups of children and young people in a number of boarding schools over the last 15 years, Iain and I became familiar with commercial level catering in a homely, domestic environment.

"We have now taken those skills and applied them to our own food business where we want to bring our passion for a good meal and a joyful dining experience into our customers’ homes.

"We are so excited to be finally launching Ooosh to the wider market and look forward to bringing deliciously plant-based food to more people.”

Iain added: “With our Stotfold kitchen now up and running, we’re offering frozen meals delivered to homes in a 10-mile radius.

"Alongside this, we’ll be providing hot lunches, coffees and vegan bakes from our premises at Fen End industrial estate, and we are looking to work with local pubs to supply them with appetizing plant-based menu options for their customers.”
