SG5 ART is an enthusiastic and exciting group of artists from Hitchin who are showcasing their work at the Boxfield Gallery in Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre until Sunday, August 6.
It was a combination of chance meetings and long standing friendships that allowed Sarah Booth, Sarah Graham, Karen Thomas, Tina Culverhouse and Sharon Cooper, who all live in Hitchin in the SG5 postcode area, to form the group.
All five have been working on their art in isolation for many years but felt that they needed a forum to share ideas and potential projects.
It is their ambition to one day have a venue of their own, to showcase other local artists, and encourage young and emerging artists within the community.
Admission to the Boxfield Gallery is free and there is the opportunity to buy some of the work on display.
