Rock buffs will recall with fondness that clip of Jimi Hendrix appearing on Lulu’s lightweight TV show – yes, honestly – and departing from the agreed playlist to embark on a powerhouse version of Cream’s Sunshine Of Your Love until they pulled the plug on him.

So the chance to enjoy the sounds of both seminal trios will appeal to those prone to worship guitar gods.

Voodoo Room, a night featuring the music of the Jimi Hendrix Experience and supergroup Cream, made up of Eric Clapton, the late Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, is at Stevenage’s Gordon Craig Theatre next Thursday night from 7.45pm.

The Classic Rock Trio of Pete Orr on guitar and vocals, John Tonks on drums and Andy Tolman on bass was formed in 2011, but all three players have an impressive list of credits to their names – find out more at www.voodoo-room.com.

Tickets are £19, call the box office on 01438 363200 or visit www.gordon-craig.co.uk.
