NOT a new Eminem record - Mathers features on a third of the tracks and only two on his own - The Re-Up is rather an indulgent compilation.

Introduced amid a hail of gunfire, Eminem announces his 'street mixtape' featuring D12, 50 Cent, Akon, Obie Trice, and new recruits to his Shady label.

The sleek production jars with the 'mixtape' posturing, and most of the record is formulaic, the usual mix of delusional, blustering ego massage, extreme violence, gunfire, the 'hood, grudges, drugs, sex, and some more self-promotion for good measure.

The title track is a pedestrian partnering of Eminem and 50 Cent, but he does sparkle on No Apologies. 2/5
