LETCHWORTH Arts Centre has started its very own fame academy for budding stars.
Drama courses, which take place weekly on a Tuesday, have been organised by Stage Door, which has been in Letchworth GC for three years and is run by Charlotte McDermott - a qualified and experienced teacher, performer and youth theatre director.
The aim is to make drama accessible to all children, from those who want to become more confident and have fun to those who love performing and want to develop their talent further.
For eight to 12-year-olds the emphasis will be on mime, improvisation and creating characters - using stories and puppets - for an end of term show.
Classes for over 12s will focus on the development of drama skills in mime, improvisation and script work. Using masks and music they will also hold an end of term show.
Each session costs £5 for eight to 12-year-olds and £5.50 for over 12s.
