Defekters Rise Up at EP release party

PUNK-PYSCHEDILIC-REGGAE favourites The Defekters launch their new EP in Stevenage with a full-on party next week.

The Stevenage-based band mark the release of seven-track recording Rise Up with a special three-band gig and DJ session at The Coach and Horses in the Old Town on Friday (November 16).

The four-piece formed in 2007 and have gathered a strong following on the local circuit and beyond.

Lead singer Cara-Jane Murphy said they have always prided themselves on creating an original sound with a conscious message.

“We have taken our sound across the country to venues, festivals and parties and have got the crowd stomping whether it’s in the clubs and pubs or muddy festy fields.”

Cara said the band will be putting on “one hell of a party” at The Coach with fellow ska, dub and reggae infused acts, Luton’s Semi-Skinned and Brighton’s Three Against Four, with DJ G Luis on decks.
