Cuban violinist Omar Puente is set to perform in Hitchin at the weekend as part of a workshop alongside the town’s own Caroline Owen.
Caroline, of Hitchin Violin School, will perform alongside Omar at Westmill Community Centre on Saturday.
Caroline said: “Not only will the musicians have front row seats to be truly inspired by violin legend Omar, they will have opportunity to learn and play music from Cuba and the art of improvising. This is a fabulous chance to see Omar’s charismatic artistry and showmanship live.”
Omar regularly performs with Courtney Pine, Nigel Kennedy and friends from the Buena Vista Social Club, to name a few.
Caroline has performed at London’s O2 arena and in the West End, as well as for celebrities including Lord Alan Sugar.
The masterclass is open to violinists of any standard. Book on 07540 337861 or info@carolineviolinist.com.
