IN THIS film adaptation of an Annie Proulx short story, a ranch-hand and a rodeo cowboy meet in the summer of 1963 and forge a lifelong connection amid the beautiful scenery of Wyoming and Texas.
The strange critical obsession with gay-cowboys-in-love is understandable because there are not many serious films being made which have gay characters at their heart. But that should be insignificant.
What matters here is that this is a wonderful film with great turns all round. 5/5
