Book Review: Case Histories by Kate Atkinson

JACKSON Brodie, former army sergeant and police officer turned private investigator, never feels completely satisfied with life.

JACKSON Brodie, former army sergeant and police officer turned private investigator, never feels completely satisfied with life.

His wife left him taking their young daughter to go and live with her new boyfriend. Work tends to involve following people around in the hope of catching them out cheating for their suspicious partners and endless missing persons that will probably never be found!

Set in and around Cambridge, Case Histories centers on three unsolved cases from the past. One missing child, one unsolved murder and a wife who murdered her husband. The results of each story are very surprising and not what you expect while reading the book. All the loose ends are tied up eventually but still leaving something to the readers imagination. This is an exciting mystery, with several funny moments too. Well worth reading.
