A band who cut their teeth on the French live music scene back in the ‘90s are bringing their high energy set to Hitchin tomorrow night (Friday).
The Bill Nico Band will dust down their set list featuring songs by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bob Marley, Queen and The Clash at the Sir John Barleycorn as a warm-up for a twentieth anniversary reunion appearance across the channel in June.
Band members Bill Lennon from Hitchin and Nico Roodenburg, Bart Noe and George Ongkiehong from Holland joined forces in 1991 in Poitiers when they were students, playing a residency at a popular caf. They recently met up in Hague for the first time in two decades.
“It should be a great night,” Bill said. “We rehearsed in Holland a few weeks back and decided we enjoyed it so much, we wanted to do it again.”
