FRUITION are excited about their first gig of the new year. The boys are headlining at the famous Monto Water Rats on Grays Inn Road, Kings Cross, this Saturday, January 12. It's the same venue that Oasis apparently played their first London gig. Go and support the local lads who are playing from 7pm alongside The Joint Conspiracy, Cheka and Chris Aliano.

# AFTER 13 years at The Three Horseshoes in Willian, landlord John Harvey is retiring. The final gig at the venue will be on January 31 and John said: "The last gig will be special as many of the artists who have played at the Shoes over the years are going to call and join in and ongoing jam session throughout the evening."

# ONE of the original superstar DJs, Tall Paul, will be making an appearance at a Hitchin club on January 25. The former Radio 1 jock and international dance music legend will be supported at the Remix gig in Hermitage Road by Gavyn Mytchell and local boy Danny Harris. Advance bookings are being taken for £5 on www.ticketweb.co.uk. Standard tickets will be available on the night.

# SINGERS looking for something new may be interested in a new group whose repertoire includes pop, rock, gospel, folk and world music, all learnt by ear. The sessions take place every Thursday evening, from 8-10pm, at St Ippolyts Village Hall, and cost £5.
