Stay Alive (15) A good idea which doesn't quite come off just about sums up this horror based around the theme of online games. A group of teenagers start getting killed in the way their characters do in the game and they must figure out a way not to get bumped off. Could be good but is far from it. 1/5

* Warrior King (18) A young warrior who has lived in the Thai jungle is forced to go to Australia when his two elephants are taken. This may sound like the plot to a kid's cartoon, but this is most definitely one for the grown ups, with some top class martial arts fighting scenes. The plot and dialogue leaves a bit to be desired but just sit back and enjoy the show. 3/5

* The Break-up (12A) Jennifer Anniston and Vince Vaughn star as a warring couple who refuse to move out of their shared flat. The film is much darker than your average rom-com and there are some fine comic moments, but it still falls short of what it might have been. 3/5

* Stormbreaker (PG) Based on an Anthony Horowitz teen spy novel, Alex Rider (Alex Pettyfer) is recruited by MI6 after his uncle dies in mysterious circumstances. Alex discovers his uncle was a spy and has equipped him with all the essential talents for a career in espionage. 3/5

* Garfield 2 (U) The adventures begin when Garfield (Bill Murray) and his owner Jon (Breckin Meyer) travel to London so Jon can propose to his girlfriend Liz (Jennifer Love Hewitt). Taken to live in a life of luxury after being confused with a wealthy cat Garfield becomes the target of a jealous rival. 2/5

* Superman Returns (12A) The man of steel is back in the form of 26-year-old heart throb Brandon Routh. Superman returns after six years away from Earth to discover that things have moved on without him. Lois Lane has a five-year-old child and Lex Luther is intent on causing mischief. How will Superman cope? 5/5

* Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest (12A) This is the sequel to Johnny Depp's last film inspired, surprisingly, on a Disneyland theme park ride. Wildly silly and over the top, this sees more of Captain Jack Sparrow's misadventures including his battles against villain Bill Nighy's Davy Jones. 4/5

* Over the Hedge (U) Fast-paced CG animation fun with a bunch of furry characters including a racoon voiced by hard man Bruce Willis. Slightly formulaic but entertaining. 3/5
