FOLLOWING last year’s sell-out concert in Hitchin, London Concertante returns to the town next weekend as part of their 2010 Christmas Tour, promising Christmas pieces in a beautiful candlelit setting.

The chamber ensemble, now celebrating its 20th year, comes to St Mary’s Church after tours in Spain, France and US since its inaugural concert on home soil in 1991.

Founded by Chris Grist, who is still its principal cellist and Artistic Director, London Concertante now boasts a recording catalogue of more than 15 discs and a concert schedule of around 100 concerts per year.

For their latest offering they are directed by international virtuoso violinist, Adam Summerhayes, performing music right from the top of the classical favourites list – Vivaldi’s masterpiece, the Four Seasons, Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, as well as music by Bach, Pachelbel and Handel.

The show starts at 7.30pm and, tickets are priced from �12 to �16 and the audience will be treated to free mulled wine and minced pies during the interval.
