A FLAUTIST who reached the final of the BBC’s Young Musician of the Year 2010 is the special guest as a Stevenage orchestra perform their new year concert this Saturday.
Held at St Martin’s Church in Knebworth, Letchworth GC teenager Emma Halnan will join Stevenage Symphony Orchestra for the concert, conducted by Phillip Brunton.
The 18-year-old is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music and has already broadcast performances with BBC Radio 2, 3, and 4, as well as in front of the Queen at Westminster Abbey.
The Stevenage Symphony Orchestra’s concert includes works by French composers - Chaminade’s Concertino for Flute, Saen-Saens’ Organ Symphony and pieces by Berlioz and Faure.
Starting at 7.30pm, tickets are �10 or �7.50 concessions in advance from Gower House Interiors, 135 London Road, Knebworth, or available on the door.
