Open air cinema is the flavour of the month this year, and there are lots of dates to choose from.

Hatfield House hosts screenings from the experts at Luna Cinema later this month – there’s The Wolf Of Wall Street on Friday, August 29 and Baz Luhrmann’s take on The Great Gatsby the following night.

They’ve got Dirty Dancing and Top Gun lined up at Knebworth House in September, too – full details at www.thelunacinema.com.

Hitchin-based Sundown Cinema kicks off its summer season at Luton Hoo on Friday night with Slumdog Millionaire, and will be returning to home turf at Hitchin Lavender over the bank holiday weekend with showings of Back To The Future, Gravity, Pretty Woman and Some Like It Hot in quick succession.

They’ve also got Grease and Dirty Dancing booked for the end of the month, with further dates at Luton Hoo and Wimpole Hall in September.
