THE Moscow Ballet - La Classique will demonstrate their continued quality of dance in a dramatic production of the Russian success Coppelia.
Coming to the Gordon Craig on Friday and Saturday, March 3 and 4, this classic is often regarded as one of the jewels of ballet and represents one of its true comedies.
It tells the story of ballet's Livin' Doll who captivates the flirtatious Franz to the despair of his feisty fiancé Swanilda.
But, of course, it's all a bit of a wind-up and true love eventually wins the day.
Coppelia, The Girl with the Enamel Eyes, is a love story with a whole helping of comedy which makes it accessible for ballet fans of all ages.
o THE Syd Lawrence Orchestra has been thrilling audiences for over 35 years and will be at the Gordon Craig Theatre on Thursday, March 2.
The traditional band line-up of trumpets, trombones, saxophones, rhythm section with piano, bass and drums, male and female vocalists and the harmony group allows for the diversity that makes this the most popular big band swing orchestra.
Every show includes a mixture of swing, dance and jazz music together with fun and comedy to make this a great live music variety show.
