Work by two artists and a photographer went on show at PS Arts Gallery in Datchworth on Saturday with all proceeds from the exhibition going to Welwyn GC-based Isabel Hospice.

Self-taught artist Paul Ambler, who has lived in Stevenage since the 1960s, will be showcasing large acrylic paintings on canvas, which he makes and stretches himself.

He will also show drawings using pen and ink, in a ‘stippling’ style.

Popular subjects for Paul, who is also an architect, photographer and musician, include African wildlife, marine life, cityscapes, cars and planes.

Fellow artist Denise Allen will be exhibiting work in oils, acrylics and watercolour.

Denise also works as an art tutor, holding regular classes, workshops and painting holidays.

Hertfordshire photographer David Cole will be offering something a little bit different, with images of landscapes and sea scenes among his portfolio.

David, who is based in Welwyn and is a member of Welwyn GC Photography Club, regularly enters national and international photo competitions.

The exhibition at the gallery in Mardleybury Farm in Mardleybury Road, Datchworth, runs until May 31 and is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 3pm, as well as between 11am and 4pm at the weekend.
