Thursday’s Polari event, which showcases authors, poets and journalists from across the country, will reach Stevenage Central Library at 2pm for a free creative writing workshop.

The workshop will include the opportunity to write and reflect with well-known authors Paul Burston and V.G Lee.

And a real literary treat is in store for the evening event which begins at 7.15pm.

With a host of well known names – including Sophie Ward, Sarah Westwood and Alexis Sinclair – it is sure to be a source of inspiration for budding writers of any age.

Each author, poet and comedian will read some of their own work, and will be taking part in question and answer sessions.

Paul, who organises the event, said: “We have been holding events like this for seven years, and now we are on tour we are reaching more people.

“People are given exercises, and have opportunities to read out their work. It is amazing how the group members support each other.

“Reading your work out loud is one of the best methods of reflection.”

V.G Lee will also be hosting the session, and with four novels to her name has plenty of advice to give hopeful authors.

Tickets for the evening event are £5, £2.50 for concessions. To book your space, call 0300 1234049.
